April 7th is World Health Day<\/strong>, an international day of health awareness that is commemorated under the auspices of the World Health Organization (WHO). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mobility represents an active way to live in a safe and healthy way in the city.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Walking and cycling are two of the preferred ways for sustainable and healthy mobility<\/strong> to get to work or school or for their usual movements, as an alternative to the use of motor vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Active mobility also offers the possibility to reach the levels of physical activity recommended by the WHO<\/a>. One hour of slow-cycling burns about 4 kcal per kilogram of body weight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

In addition to being good for your health, moving around the city in a sustainable way allows you to leave a lighter ecological footprint and fewer CO2 emissions<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the World Health Organization, health is a fundamental element of human well-being and happiness. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Health provides a contribution to economic progress as a healthy life corresponds to a longer and more productive life<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between 2016 and 2019, 44% of people in the 18-69 age group practice active mobility and report cycling and\/or walking to work, school, or for daily commuting. A figure that has the potential to grow in the post-Covid scenario as new technologies and new mobility solutions emerge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Health, wellness and mobility.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The health emergency from Covid-19 and its impact on our daily lives has shown how health, wellness and mobility are strongly correlated<\/strong>. Mobility has been one of the most affected sectors due to travel restrictions to stem the epidemic spread. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But our study conducted on a sample of 1,600 people, while confirming the concerns about a lower propensity to use public transport, does not translate into confinement within the private car and shows that today 50% of people are ready to change their habits towards more sustainable mobility if the conditions are right. There are several valid reasons to change the way of moving around the city: healthy, environmental and economic. MUV through its simple, engaging and safe way generates new motivations and habits in mobility<\/strong>, in home-school and home-work trips. Employees and students commute and through competitions and rewarding, earn points in a sustainable and healthy way: walking, biking, scootering or even carpooling or using public transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
