Rules – ISPRA BUS TO WORK 2

1. Organisers

This challenge is an initiative of ISPRA and MUV B Corp.

2. Duration

The competition will run from 01 March 2026 to 31 May 2026.

The challenge will be divided into 3 consecutive months, defined as follows:

  • Month 1: from 01 March 2026 to 31 March 2026
  • Month 2: from 01 April 2026 to 30 April 2026
  • Month 3: from 01 May 2026 to 31 May 2026

At the end of each period, the count of valid trips will be automatically reset to zero.

3. Geographical scope

The initiative is open to participants residing throughout Italy and aims to promote more sustainable ways of getting around.

4. How it works

4.1 Who can take part?

The challenge is open to the ISPRA community of MUV Game users, up to a maximum of 100 users, who record their sustainable trips with the MUV Game app, using the supported modes.

4.2 Objective of the Challenge

The challenge is Individual: each participant earns points by recording their sustainable trips, with the aim of reaching a single milestone threshold.

Only trips that meet the following conditions count towards reaching the threshold:

  • They match the user’s “Frequent trip” (also called “home-to-work trip” in the app).
  • They include at least one leg made by public transport.

In the MUV Game app, public transport is recorded as: Bus, Coach, Metro, Train.

✅ Points are individual and add up based on the valid trips recorded with the app.
✅ Only trips that match your Frequent trip (home-to-work) count towards the threshold.
✅ For the threshold, the recorded trips must include at least one journey by public transport (Bus, Coach, Metro or Train).

4.3 How are points earned?

Participants earn points by recording their sustainable trips with the MUV Game app, provided that all the following rules are met:

  1. Tracking
The trip must be tracked entirely with the app.

  2. Eligible trip (home–work)
The trip must match the user’s “Frequent trip” as set in the app (also referred to as home–work trip).

  3. Use of public transport
The recorded trips as a whole must include at least one journey made by public transport, recognised by the app as Bus, Coach, Metro or Train.

  4. Automatic validation
The route must be recognised and validated by the automatic algorithms of the MUV system.

  5. Daily limit
Only a maximum of 1 valid trip per day is counted.
➜ Consequently: to reach a threshold of N trips, you need N different days with at least one valid trip recorded.
    Example: threshold of 6 trips = 6 days with 1 valid trip/day.

  6. Exclusions
Trips that are partial, not consistent with the Frequent trip or lacking at least one use of public transport do not generate points and do not contribute to reaching the threshold.

5. Trip Tracking and Verification

Sustainable trips are tracked and verified as follows:

  • To record a sustainable trip, simply tap the “PLAY” button and select the chosen sustainable mode of transport from those available. The modes supported by MUV for the challenge are: walking, cycling, e-bike/e-scooter, electric motorbike/car, public transport, intercity buses, train/metro and car pooling.
  • Once tracking has started, information on the user’s position and activity will be collected, which is essential for validating the trip.
  • During the trip you can change the mode of transport by tapping the “SWITCH” button and selecting the icon for a different means of transport.
  • At the end of the trip, simply select “STOP” to end tracking and start the automatic procedures for validating the trip and consequently awarding the points.
  • Once the trip has ended, you can view the details of your trip and the points earned on the dedicated detail screen. If the trip has not been validated by mistake, you can request a further check through the “Give us feedback” option on the trip detail screen or in the side menu of the app.
  • The points earned by the player for each certified sustainable route are proportional to the distance travelled and the mode of transport used. In addition, there are extra bonuses, which proportionally increase the number of points obtained depending on various factors, including: weather conditions, altitude (only for walking or cycling routes), peak traffic hours, home-to-work or home-to-school trips and frequency of app use.

Please remember that, to enable tracking, you need to activate the device’s location services, which are used exclusively to validate sustainable trips and for statistical and research purposes.

For tracking to work properly, we recommend disabling features such as battery saver or power saving, which could interfere with the recording of trips. MUV accepts no liability for any loss of GPS points or trips due to device malfunctions, external interference such as internet disconnections or other third-party technical problems.

Further details are available in the “Support” section of the app and in the Terms and Conditions of Use.

6. Prizes and Allocation

6.1 Prizes on Offer

The overall duration of the initiative is divided into three consecutive months.
In each month, each participant can obtain a cash contribution of:

€20 on reaching 6 valid trips, made and validated as described in the app and in these rules.

To be considered valid:

  • Trips must match the “Frequent trip” (home-to-work), as configured in the app.
  • They must meet all the requirements set out in the rules and in the app’s operating rules.
  • Only one valid trip per day is counted.

At the end of each period, the count of valid trips will be automatically reset to zero, allowing participants to accumulate trips again towards the threshold set for the following period.

Each participant can obtain up to a maximum of 3 prizes in total, one for each period, for a maximum total value of €60.

The prize is awarded only on reaching the stated threshold; there is no calculation based on kilometres travelled. Only trips that fully comply with the provisions of these rules are considered valid.

7. Prize Delivery

At the end of the challenge, following final checks, participants who have earned one or more prizes based on the thresholds reached will be contacted by email.

The email will contain a link to a questionnaire to be filled in to provide the information needed to issue the prize.
Completing the questionnaire is a necessary condition for the prize to be delivered.

The methods, timing and amount of the payment will be defined based on the thresholds actually reached by each participant and communicated by email.

8. Nature of the Initiative

📢 This initiative has charitable and social purposes and therefore does not fall within the prize promotions governed by Presidential Decree no. 430 of 26 October 2001 (art. 6, paragraph e).

9. Privacy and Data Processing

🔒 Protection of personal data
For the challenge to run properly, information on the trips recorded through the app will be collected and processed.
