On the occasion of the European Sustainable Mobility Week, from 16 to 22 September, we tell you how corporate communities are playing with MUV to create a positive impact on our planet.

MUV turns safe and sustainable mobility into a game.

MUV, through a free downloadable mobile app, turns sustainable mobility into an engaging and competitive experience that has a real impact on the environment. It is an innovative platform that encourages responsible and healthy behaviour through digitally played sports competitions in the real world.

Transport is the only sector where greenhouse gas emissions have increased over the last three decades, with a 33.5 per cent increase between 1990 and 2019. In Italy the average of passenger cars is 1.4 passengers. Cars are one of the main polluters, accounting for 61% of total CO2 emissions from road transport in the EU. This figure confronts us with the importance of taking concrete measures to reach the ambitious European target of zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, as outlined in the European Green Deal.

After weeks of summer rounds, Ad Store’s super 4 teams advance to the playoffs: Outerspace Creatures, Astro Pets, Sonic Aliens and Cosmo Porks. We’re very curious and excited to see who will battle it out in the final.

Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), which has been with us since the beginning of MUV, is concluding the summer challenge successfully and is preparing to launch an exciting tournament for its employees between October and November.

The Italian Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA) surprises us by launching the CicliSPRA Challenge, dedicated to all bicycle enthusiasts in the community.

Italfond, a world leader in steel protection, shows particular attention to environmental protection and we are happy to welcome them as the new entry of the month. With no less than two challenges created especially for them, the first of which will start during European Sustainable Mobility Week, we can’t wait to see what they have in store.

Last but not least, MUV is Sustainable Mobility Partner of the Urban Thinkers Campus – Communities’ Sustainable eXperience (CSX), an initiative that aims to promote a broad portfolio of community-led initiatives, processes, practices, solutions and ideas in the Madonie Mountains, Sicily, and that will see the participation of more than 100 speakers and 10 University Institutions. The partnership between MUV and CSX aims to reduce CO2 levels in the Madonie area.
