MUV Case Studies: Eurofins Biolab’s sustainable mobility challenge.

For Eurofins Biolab, we created a sustainable mobility ranking challenge to promote a healthy and active lifestyle within the company community, with prizes up for grabs and reports on the impact generated.

Context

Eurofins Biolab, an independent analytical laboratory and leading company in analytical services, is part of Eurofins Product Testing Italy Srl, a worldwide network of laboratories. Over the last twenty years, Eurofins has built a network of companies capable of playing a leading role in analytical services in the pharmaceutical, food, environmental and consumer product fields. It is in more than 50 countries with 900 laboratories and over 55.000 employees.

The challenge

Eurofins was looking for a fast, dynamic and fun solution to promote sustainable and active mobility among employees at the Vimodrone site.

Through a collaborative process, MUV created the Eurofins community within the MUV Game app and a custom-built 4-week individual challenge between October and November 2022 in which all employees at the Vimodrone site, after downloading the app, joined the competition and challenged each other with their sustainable trips. At the end of the challenge, the most virtuous athletes were rewarded with gift vouchers provided by the customer. For the Eurofins Challenge MUV defined the creative identity and took care of the graphic adaptation of the brand in the app. MUV supported the project’s promoters, internal communication and company mobility managers, in the onboarding phase to activate the community of employees and engage them to sign up. In support of this activity, MUV prepared the welcome kit with customised communication materials for specifically agreed channels.

The results

In just 4 weeks the average CO2 reduction was 31% per active user with a saving of 84 kg of CO2 compared to the conditions declared at the beginning of the competition. In addition to the impact measured in terms of CO2 saved, through our calculation method validated by RINA, MUV provided the customer with other data such as sustainable kilometres travelled, calories burned, and information related to user engagement and mobility habits. All data is always provided in anonymous and aggregated form.
