MUV together with schools for safe and sustainable mobility

20 May 2021

The pandemic has changed the habits of students and teachers and has forced schools to rethink teaching in order to protect everyone’s health and ensure continuity of operations.

Now, however, is the time to redesign, reorganise, manage and measure the return to school. That is why MUV wants to involve Schools in a new project starting in the 2021/2022 school year.

An open call for upper secondary schools, to which we offer a free collaboration starting from September 2021 to develop new safe and sustainable mobility habits for students, teaching and administrative staff.

MUV in a nutshell

MUV turns sustainable mobility into a sport: it encourages active lifestyles, generates valuable resources for activists and policy makers and creates new opportunities for institutions, organisations and companies.

Our research

After years of intensive international research and after the shock caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we can state that, to make urban mobility more sustainable (and safe) and to contribute to the fight against climate change, we need to:

  1. change, whenever possible, our mobility habits in the city
  2. collect data and make it available to improve urban policies

Well, MUV does exactly this!

In this short video Toti Di Dio, co-founder of MUV, explains it in less than 6 minutes.

Let’s play with MUV, change habits, change the world with schools.

A game that blends the real and the digital to change the way people perceive their daily mobility. Your school, students and teaching and administrative staff will be involved in various sustainable mobility competitions: training, challenges, tournaments, prizes. All it takes is to download the app and go to school on foot, by bike, by scooter, or by carpooling or public transport.

Let’s measure the impacts and make use of the data

By making the experience of going to school new and exciting, your community will get:
• new, safer and more sustainable mobility habits
• CO2 savings of between 32% and 54% (calculated according to ISO 14064-2 for your sustainability report)
• mobility data for your home-to-school travel plan and, anonymised (and with your consent), to contribute to a large dataset of sustainable mobility habits, open and free for researchers, activists and policy makers in our cities.

They play with us

Employees of INAIL, LIST, ISPRA, Fondazione Unipolis, Fondazione CRT and many others have already turned their colleagues into sustainable mobility athletes and actively helped reduce emissions.

MUV for Business

Whether it is a sustainability project for employees or a sponsorship for our champions, companies and organisations are also playing the game of change.
