Università di Torino Challenge - Rules - MUV

Università di Torino Challenge – Rules

1. Organisers
This challenge is an initiative of MUV B Corp.

2. Duration
From 16/09/2024 to 14/10/2024.

3. Geographical scope
Worldwide.

4. How the initiative works
The challenge is reserved for the University of Turin community.
MUV assigns each player a certain number of points based on the sustainable trips made. To be considered valid, these trips must be tracked using the dedicated app feature and subsequently verified by the service’s automatic algorithms.

The tracking and verification of sustainable routes works as follows:
● To record a sustainable trip, simply tap the “PLAY” button and select the chosen sustainable mode of transport from those available. The modes supported by MUV are: walking, cycling, e-bike/e-scooter, electric motorbike/car, public transport, intercity buses, train, car pooling.
● Once tracking has started, information on the user’s location and activity will be collected, which is essential for validating the route.
● During the trip, you can change the mode of transport by tapping the “SWITCH” button and selecting the icon for a different means of transport.
● At the end of the trip, simply select “STOP” to end tracking and start the automatic procedures for validating the trip and awarding the corresponding points.
● Once the trip is complete, you can view its details and the points earned in the dedicated detail screen. If the trip has not been validated due to an error, you can request a further check via the “Give us feedback” option in the trip detail screen or in the app’s side menu.

Please remember that, to allow tracking, the location services on your device must be enabled, and that this feature is used exclusively for the purposes of the game, to validate the player’s sustainable trip, and for any statistical and research purposes.

For more detailed information on how the app works and on the tracking modes, please refer to the dedicated “FAQ and tutorials” section in the app, as well as to the service’s terms and conditions of use.

The points earned by the player for each certified sustainable route are proportional to the distance travelled and the mode of transport used. In addition, there are bonuses that proportionally increase the number of points obtained depending on: weather conditions, altitude (only for walking or cycling routes), peak traffic hours, home-to-work or home-to-school trips, frequency of app use, presence of MUV places.
Points can also be awarded for correctly answering multiple-choice bonus questions and if the reward for sharing on social media (MUV Stories) is activated.

Players can check their game status in the Challenges section.
You can request to be unsubscribed from the challenge via the “Give us feedback” button in the side menu.

5. Nature
As it has an eminently charitable purpose, this initiative does not fall within the scope of Presidential Decree no. 430 of 26 October 2001, pursuant to article 6, paragraph e.

6. Prizes

6.1 General description of prizes and allocation methods
The prizes for the collaborative challenge will be awarded by prize draw among the best players.
The number of prizes on offer and of players admitted to the draw will increase as three increasing points thresholds are reached.
Players admitted to the draw will be assigned a variable number of tickets depending on the threshold reached and their position in the leaderboard, as described below.
The draw will be made by drawing the winning tickets from those assigned to the players admitted to the draw.
Each player admitted to the draw will have a chance of winning proportional to the number of tickets assigned and the number of prizes on offer.
Each player can win only one prize.
Each prize consists of a Decathlon voucher worth €30.

In addition, the “prizes” will be awarded exclusively to members of the University of Turin.

8 Exclusion
Improper behaviour by participants in the initiative or violations of the MUV service rules of use as described in the Terms and Conditions of Use, if confirmed, may lead to the deletion of the accounts concerned as well as the disqualification of the Team(s) the users belong to.

9. Guarantees and Obligations
In the event of clear and detectable attempts at fraud and of false or inaccurate statements, the Organisers reserve the right to immediately delete the user or any points deemed to have been acquired in an invalid manner and/or not in accordance with the rules.

Users who, in the unquestionable judgement of the Organisers or of third parties appointed by them, participate using means and tools capable of circumventing chance, or whose participation is in any case judged suspicious, fraudulent or in breach of the normal running of the initiative, will be excluded from participation and will not be entitled to any prize won. Points obtained through the use of software deemed suspicious, fraudulent or in breach of the rules of the game, if identified or deemed as such with the means and knowledge available to the software house managing the service, will be cancelled and the leaderboard will be restored on the basis of the data that have not been cancelled.

Therefore, the Organisers or third parties appointed by them reserve the right to take action against all participants in the manner deemed most appropriate (including, if deemed necessary, requesting an identity document) and in compliance with the laws in force.

If, following checks, it is found that fraudulently obtained points have benefited a specific participant, regardless of the leaderboard resulting from their removal, the Organisers reserve the right to disqualify that participant. Furthermore, the Organisers reserve the right to disqualify any participant who has obtained points through unlawful actions. Participants’ data will be collected in compliance with EU Regulation 679/2016 (“GDPR”).
