Cinema City Challenge - MUV Game

Cinema City Challenge, a sustainable journey into the world of cinema.

19 June 2023

Cinema City, the eagerly awaited open-air cinema festival in Palermo, is about to return again this year with the promise of thrilling spectators with an eclectic selection of films. And for the second year running, MUV confirms itself as a Sustainable Mobility Partner of this much-loved event.

Cinema City, the open-air cinema festival returns to Palermo.

From 17 to 23 July, Cinema City, the open-air film festival organised by the Wilder Association, will transform the Terrazza Sul Mare del Porticciolo Sant’Erasmo into an authentic cinema under the stars. We cannot reveal more yet, but we will soon share the schedule. In the meantime, we invite you to follow all the updates on the Cinema City facebook page.

From 26 June, the Cinema City Challenge will be played in the app.

With a new challenge, MUV and Cinema City are promoting sustainable mobility not only during the seven days of screenings, but for four weeks a collaborative challenge played out on the MUV Game app. The Cinema City Challenge, from 26 June to 23 July 2023, aims to encourage Cinema City viewers to use sustainable means such as bicycles, scooters and public transport to get to the screening locations. Those coming from further afield will be able to share their car journeys (carpooling) with others.

In addition, all journeys, recorded by the app from 17 to 23 July, that originate from or are destined for the Terrazza sul Mare, in Via Padre G. Messina, Porticciolo Sant’Erasmo, will have a 100% bonus on the points collected. Unique collector’s badges attesting to a personal commitment to the city of Palermo will be up for grabs.

MUV B Corp Sustainable Mobility Partner.

MUV’s “Sustainable Mobility Partner” partnership enables companies and event organisers to encourage their visitors to reach event venues in a more sustainable (and fun!) way. This reduces environmental impact and helps reduce road congestion in the areas surrounding events. The CO2 reduction, validated according to ISO 14064-2-2019, will contribute to the event’s sustainability balance.
