3Cs Tournament – Rules - MUV

3Cs Tournament – Rules

  1. Organisers
This tournament is an initiative of MUV B Corp and 3Cs.
  2. Duration
    From 03/03/2025 to 14/04/2025.
  3. Geographical scope
    Europe.
  4. How the initiative works

The challenge is open to the communities of Université Paul Valéry, Universidade de Coimbra, Universidad Camilo José Cela and Università di Torino, which commit to using sustainable means of transport for their trips, including bicycle, e-bike and walking on foot.

Each participant will earn points based on the sustainable journeys made. To be valid, trips must be tracked with the app provided and subsequently verified by the automatic algorithms of the MUV service.

Sustainable trips are tracked and verified as follows:

  • To record a sustainable trip, simply tap the “PLAY” button and select the chosen sustainable mode of transport from those available. The modes supported by MUV for the tournament are: walking, cycling and e-bike.
  • Once tracking has started, information on the user’s position and activity will be collected, which is essential for validating the trip.
  • During the trip you can change the mode of transport by tapping the “SWITCH” button and selecting the icon for a different means of transport.
  • At the end of the trip, simply select “STOP” to end tracking and start the automatic procedures for validating the trip and consequently awarding the points.
  • Once the trip has ended, you can view the details of your trip and the points earned on the dedicated detail screen. If the trip has not been validated by mistake, you can request a further check through the “Give us feedback” option on the trip detail screen or in the side menu of the app.
  • The points earned by the player for each certified sustainable route are proportional to the distance travelled and the mode of transport used. In addition, there are extra bonuses, which proportionally increase the number of points obtained depending on various factors, including: weather conditions, altitude (only for walking or cycling routes), peak traffic hours, home-to-work or home-to-school trips and frequency of app use.

Please remember that tracking requires the device’s location services to be enabled; these are used exclusively to validate sustainable trips and for statistical and research purposes. More details are available in the “Support” section of the app and in the Terms and Conditions of Use.

  1. How team points are accumulated
Each team’s score during matches is determined by the sum of the points obtained by the 10 players with the highest scores, plus the average points of all the other team members.

    • Bonus on the average score
The average score of the team’s remaining players can benefit from a percentage bonus based on the total number of active participants:
      +5% → 20 players
      +10% → 40 players
      +15% → 80 players
      +20% → 150 players
      +25% → 300 players
      +30% → 600 players
      +35% → 1,200 players
      +40% → 2,400 players
      +45% → 4,800 players
      +50% → 9,600 players
    • Awarding of the Best Player title
At the end of each match, the 10 players with the highest scores in each team will automatically receive the title of “Best Player”. Each player can check their position and game status in real time in the “Tournament” section
    • How the tournament works and its phases
The tournament is divided into three phases:
      Ranking phase
      Duration: 1 week
All teams take part in this first phase, in which they are ranked according to the points accumulated. At the end of the week, the leaderboard will determine the teams’ positions for the following group phase.
      Group phase
      Duration: 3 weeks
The teams are placed in a single group and play one-on-one matches. Each team plays against all the others at least once. Matches last one week each and, at the end of this phase, the overall leaderboard determines the teams that advance to the playoffs.
      Playoffs
      Duration: 2 weeks
The best teams from the group phase qualify for the playoffs, which are played in a knockout format. Semi-finals and a final are played to determine the tournament winner. The team that wins the final will be declared the winner of the tournament.
  2. Prizes
Team members will receive individual prizes allocated as follows:

    • 7 Decathlon vouchers worth €50 each will be awarded, by prize draw, to 7 players drawn from among all the Best Players of the winning team of the tournament.
The draw will take place exclusively among the players who have obtained the Best Player title within the winning team.
    • 5 Decathlon vouchers worth €50 each will be awarded, by prize draw, to 5 players drawn from among all the Best Players of the teams taking part in the tournament.
The draw will take place exclusively among the players who have obtained the Best Player title.

Players admitted to the prize draw will receive a variable number of tickets, determined by the Best Player titles they have accumulated. The draw will be made by randomly selecting the winning tickets from those assigned to participants. Each player will have a chance of winning proportional to the number of tickets received and to the total number of prizes on offer.

Each player can win only one prize per category, i.e. at most one of the prizes reserved for the winning team and one of those awarded to all the Best Players of the tournament.

  1. Prize delivery deadline
At the end of the tournament, the vouchers will be credited to the “Prizes” section of the app within a maximum of 48 hours.
  2. Nature
As it has an eminently charitable purpose, this initiative does not fall within the scope of Presidential Decree no. 430 of 26 October 2001, pursuant to article 6, paragraph e.
  3. Use of Data and Privacy
In order for the game to take place, it is necessary to collect and process information relating to the tracks of journeys made via the app and to the game results. Players’ personal data will be processed in full compliance with current privacy legislation, as specified in the document https://www.muvgame.com/privacy-policy.
