MUV SRL SB, with registered office at via Belgio, 8 – 90146 Palermo, VAT No. 06837280822 (“MUV”) and Fondazione Unipolis, with registered office at via Stalingrado, 53 – 40128, Bologna, Tax Code 92022720376, the corporate foundation of the Unipol Group and the UnipolSai Group, for which it is one of the most important instruments for carrying out social responsibility initiatives, within the framework of their overall sustainability strategy. The Foundation pursues the cultural, social and civic growth of people and communities, focusing its attention and commitment on the development of knowledge, education and sustainability (“Unipolis”).
The initiative, part of the free two-year project MOB – movimento in rivoluzione, aims to bring young people closer to sustainable mobility, involve them in active citizenship experiences and, thanks to MUV’s app “MUV Game” (hereinafter the “App”), engage them in an interactive, virtual game to discover, while having fun, how to get around sustainably, with online training and in-depth learning opportunities.
The “MOB” Tournament is a team competition focused on the theme of sustainable urban mobility (“the Tournament”).
This activity is to be considered excluded from the regulations on prize promotions, pursuant to Presidential Decree 430/01 – Art. 6, letter e) – as the prizes are intended for bodies or institutions of a public nature or with eminently social or charitable purposes.
The initiative is aimed at young people aged at least 16 and no older than 21, belonging to bodies or institutions of a public nature or with charitable purposes (e.g. non-profit social, cultural or sports organisations) located in Italy (hereinafter “Bodies”), who are coordinated by teachers, coaches, educators or people belonging to these organisations.
In order to take part in the Tournament, a team made up of at least 6 Participants (hereinafter “Team”) must be formed.
Teams may represent either a class of a school located in Italy or, by way of example but not limited to, a third-sector organisation (ETS), a cultural association, a social promotion association (APS), an amateur sports association (ASD), a committee, a sports promotion body, an ecclesiastical body, an oratory, a voluntary organisation, a multi-sports club, an amateur sports company (SSD), a non-profit public or private university.
Registration is free.
To participate, Participants must install the MUV Game mobile app, available free of charge for Android and iOS devices, on their smartphone, register by activating a personal profile and join the MOB community.
To do so, users must first activate a personal account, then choose MOB among the active communities in the app and join it by entering and then verifying their e-mail address.
Once the registration and community joining procedures have been completed, users can search among the teams already formed for that of their class (indicating the name of the school, the city, the class and the section) or out-of-school organisation if already present in the app, or, alternatively, create it directly and invite classmates and members to sign up.
Once a team has been created, in order to be considered active and therefore automatically registered to take part in the tournament, it must consist of at least 6 Participants (hereinafter “Team”).
All Participants taking part in the initiative may join only one Team. Creating multiple accounts to compete with more than one Team, as well as any other improper conduct, will be punished with the immediate deletion of the account in question and the disqualification of the Team(s) concerned.
The Tournament will follow this calendar:
Once the Tournament has started, Participants will still be able to join a competing Team for the entire duration of the competition.
The Tournament format comprises three different phases.
The duration of each phase will depend on the number of active Teams confirmed at the end of the registration phase, when the calendar will be announced. The phases are described in the following paragraph.
With the selected community you take part in the Tournament, which consists of three different phases:
A . Open-leaderboard divisions.
Duration from 1 to 3 weeks
The Teams are split into different divisions where they are ranked in leaderboards based on the points scored during this period. The best Teams in each division qualify for the second phase, the groups.
B. Groups
Duration from 3 to 5 weeks
The Teams that qualified from the previous phase are again divided into different groups where, this time, they face each other in one-on-one matches lasting one week. At the end, the Team with the most points wins the match. The groups consist of 4 or 6 teams, depending on the number of Teams, and therefore this phase lasts from 3 to 5 weeks. At the end of this phase, the Teams with the most wins (or, in the event of a tie, with the highest number of points) qualify for the third and final phase.
C. Playoffs
Duration from 4 to 5 weeks
The final phase of the Tournament consists of a series of knockout matches between the qualified Teams, starting from the round of 16 or the round of 32 (depending on the number of Teams), moving through the quarter-finals and semi-finals and finally reaching the grand final. The Team that wins the final will be the winner of the Tournament and will win the title of MOB sustainability champion.
In each of the three phases of the Tournament, the Teams’ points are calculated using the same criteria, i.e. as the sum of the points scored by the top 5 members of the Team and the average of the points scored by the remaining members of the same Team.
You can ask to be removed from the Tournament at any time via the “Give us feedback” button in the side menu. Once removed from the Tournament, it will no longer be possible to take part in the initiative and win the prizes on offer. The points scored by the Participant who is no longer taking part will remain credited to their Team.
The App assigns each participant a certain number of points based on the sustainable trips made. To be considered valid, these trips must be tracked using the dedicated App feature and then verified by the service’s automatic algorithms.
Sustainable itineraries are tracked and verified as follows:
Please note that tracking requires your device’s location services to be enabled, and that this feature is used exclusively for the purposes of the game, to validate the player’s sustainable trips, and for any statistical and research purposes, for which the data in question are processed in anonymous and aggregated form.
For more detailed information on how the App works and how tracking works, please refer to the dedicated “FAQ and tutorial” section in the App, as well as to the service’s terms and conditions of use.
The points earned by the participant with each certified sustainable route are proportional to the distance travelled and the mobility system used. In addition, there are bonuses that proportionally increase the number of points earned depending on: weather conditions, altitude (only for routes on foot or by bicycle), peak traffic hours, home-to-work or home-to-school trip, frequency of app use.
In addition, given the educational aims of the initiative, bonus points will be awarded to all students who take part in each of the two MOB online masterclasses that will be held during the project. These one-hour masterclasses will also allow participating classes to obtain recognition of PCTO hours.
To obtain the bonus, which will be 1,000 points per masterclass attended, simply register for the event, take part in it and, at the end, complete a short online survey stating your MUV nickname. The points will then be credited directly in the app.
To obtain recognition of PCTO hours, the teacher in charge of the participating class simply needs to send an e-mail to mob@fondazioneunipolis.org. Certificates will then be issued individually.
The dates of the masterclasses are being finalised and will be communicated, together with how to take part, both on the initiative’s website and directly to all Participants in the MOB community via an in-app notification.
Each Team’s points are the sum of the points scored by the top 5 participants plus the average of the remaining participants’ points.
At the end of each match, the top 5 participants of each Team will receive the title of the team’s “Best Player”.
The average score of all the other players is subject to a bonus depending on the number of players supporting the team:
+5% → 20 players
+10% → 40 players
+15% → 80 players
+20% → 150 players
+25% → 300 players
+30% → 600 players
+35% → 1200 players
+40% → 2400 players
+45% → 4800 players
+50% → 9600 players
The player can check their own status and that of their Team in the competition in real time by accessing the Tournament section.
At the end of the match, the team with the most points will win the match and earn one point in the leaderboard.
At the end of the Tournament, there are prizes for the winning Teams.
These consist of both collective prizes for the top-ranked Bodies and prizes for individual use that these Bodies can distribute to their members who took part in the competition. To facilitate the awarding of individual prizes, each winning Body will be provided with the list of Best Players, i.e. the best players of the under-21 Team.
As regards collective prizes, Fondazione Unipolis will award a cash prize to the winning Bodies. In particular, a top prize worth €7,000 will be awarded to the Body represented by the first-placed Team. The Body will also be awarded 5 passes for the Ypsigrock 2023 music festival, including a €400 voucher for travel costs, or alternatively 5 vouchers for organised trips with FUN!.
In addition to the winning Body, two other top-ranked Bodies after the first, belonging to the two categories “Schools” and “Organisations”, will also be awarded prizes. They will receive, respectively, a financial contribution of €4,000 and 10 Ticketone vouchers worth €25 each.
At the end of the Tournament, the participants of the winning Teams will be contacted by e-mail or via the App and asked to indicate a contact person from the school or out-of-school organisation. This contact person will in turn be contacted to verify that the participation requirements are met; the prizes will then be awarded.
Fondazione Unipolis will only pay the cash prize after receiving by e-mail the acceptance letter signed by the legal representative (or by the head teacher in the case of a school) and the articles of association.
The articles of association must demonstrate that the conditions set out in point 2 of these Rules are met, as well as the sporting and/or recreational and/or cultural purposes of the organisation’s activities aimed at young people.
Once payment has been made, the beneficiary organisation must return the receipt of payment to Fondazione Unipolis.
The cash prize must be spent no later than 18 months from the value date of the payment to promote the well-being of the organisation’s community (e.g. purchase of materials, renovation of buildings, training, school trips, cultural or scientific projects) and must be accounted for using a specific form indicating the expenses incurred and their purposes. If the required documentation is missing, repayment of the entire amount of the prize may be requested, which will be allocated to reserves.
The vouchers, on the other hand, will be purchased directly by MUV SRL SB, which will make them available to the winning Bodies following the checks carried out by Fondazione Unipolis. Vouchers and passes will be provided in digital format, so there will be no physical delivery, only an e-mail containing all the information needed to redeem the prizes.
Bodies must demonstrate that they work primarily with and for young people. This requirement must be stated in the body’s articles of association, failing which the body will be excluded from participation and, should this come to Fondazione Unipolis’s attention after registration, from the awards.
A Body may not receive two collective prizes; therefore, if two Teams representing the same Body were at the same time the winning Team of the Tournament and the Team of the best Body, the prize will be awarded to the highest-ranked reserve Team belonging to another Body. In this way, the two prizes of €7,000 and €4,000 will go to two different Bodies.
Improper conduct by participants in the initiative or violations of the rules of use of the MUV service as described in the Terms and Conditions of Use, if confirmed, may lead to the deletion of the accounts concerned as well as the disqualification of the Team(s) the users belong to.
The collection of names online for participation in the Tournament and the mechanism for the automatic awarding and counting of points will be handled by computer software.
In the event of clear and detectable attempts at fraud or false and inaccurate statements, the Organisers reserve the right to immediately delete the user or any points deemed to have been obtained invalidly and/or not in accordance with the rules.
Users who, in the unquestionable judgement of the Organisers or of third parties appointed by them, participate using means and tools capable of circumventing chance, or whose participation is in any case judged suspicious, fraudulent or in breach of the normal running of the initiative, will be excluded from participation and will not be entitled to any prize won. Points obtained through the use of software deemed suspicious, fraudulent or in breach of the rules of the game, if identified or deemed as such with the means and knowledge available to the software house managing the service, will be cancelled and the leaderboard will be restored on the basis of the data that have not been cancelled.
Therefore, the Organisers or third parties appointed by them reserve the right to take action against all participants in the manner deemed most appropriate (including, if deemed necessary, requesting an identity document) and in compliance with the laws in force.
If, following checks, it is found that fraudulently obtained points have benefited a specific participant, regardless of the leaderboard resulting from their removal, the Organisers reserve the right to disqualify that participant. Furthermore, the Organisers reserve the right to disqualify any participant who has obtained points through unlawful actions. Participants’ data will be collected in compliance with EU Regulation 679/2016 (“GDPR”).
In order for the game to take place, it is necessary to collect and process information relating to the tracks of the trips made via the app, the game results and other information such as name or e-mail address. All of the player’s personal data will be processed by the Organisers in full compliance with current privacy legislation and as specified in the MOB community rules, which all Tournament participants must have read and accepted in order to access the community and take part in the dedicated competitions, and more generally in the privacy policy of the MUV service.
Employees of INAIL, LIST, ISPRA, Fondazione Unipolis, Fondazione CRT and many others have already turned their colleagues into sustainable mobility athletes and actively helped reduce emissions.
Whether it is a sustainability project for employees or a sponsorship for our champions, companies and organisations are also playing the game of change.
