European Mobility Week: from Milan to Ascoli Piceno, the local governments that host Serie A and B clubs give their patronage to the fans' league — and get, in return, data on their citizens' sustainable trips, with CO₂ savings certified to ISO standard.
From 16 to 22 September, Europe celebrates European Mobility Week, the European Commission initiative dedicated to sustainable urban travel. This year, for the first time, football officially enters the programme of six Italian cities.

Six municipalities have granted their patronage to FantaMUV, the fans' league promoted by MUV B Corp that turns every sustainable trip into points for your favourite team. The patronage is free of charge and involves no costs for the local governments: it is an institutional recognition that comes with a very concrete exchange.
As of 15 September 2026, the following have granted their patronage to FantaMUV:
Six cities, five regions, two divisions. And a list set to grow: talks with the other local governments among the 38 cities hosting Serie A and B clubs are under way.
The mechanism is one fans already know. You download the MUV Game app, choose your favourite team and start moving: on foot, by bike, by scooter, by public transport, in sharing or in carpooling. Every sustainable trip is worth points, and the points go to your team.
Every week there is a match, in parallel with the real championship calendar. And anyone who goes to the stadium without a private car takes home an extra bonus on the current match. The more sustainable the trip, the more it weighs in the standings.
The patronage is free, but it is not a one-way favour: each participating municipality receives a dashboard with aggregated, anonymised data on participants' trips across its territory. Modal split, kilometres travelled, CO₂ avoided. At the end of the season, a full report follows.
For a local government this is information that helps planning — where to build a cycle lane, which line to strengthen — and that usually costs dedicated survey campaigns. For smaller municipalities, it is often data that simply does not exist.
The CO₂ savings are calculated with an algorithm certified by RINA to the UNI EN ISO 14064-2:2019 standard: it is not an internal estimate, it is a figure a municipality can put in an official document.
FantaMUV reaches its national launch after five years of field testing (2021–2026) and stems from a decade-long research path on mobility behaviour change: 21 scientific publications, pilots in more than 25 cities, and a B Corp certification that binds the company to social and environmental impact goals alongside profit.
In the communities where it has been activated, MUV Game has recorded on average a 32% reduction in CO₂ emissions per active user and a propensity to change travel habits above 55%.
Put less technically: it works because it is a competition, not because it is a step counter.
European Mobility Week is the moment to start, but the league lasts the whole season. Anyone who downloads the app these days starts from the first available matchday.
Download the MUV Game app, choose your colours and take your team to the top of the standings. One sustainable step at a time.
Employees of INAIL, LIST, ISPRA, Fondazione Unipolis, Fondazione CRT and many others have already turned colleagues into sustainable mobility athletes and actively contributed to reducing emissions.
Whether it is a sustainability project for employees or sponsorship for our champions, companies and organizations play as well the game of change.
