Palermo Coffee Festival - Rules

1. Organizers

This challenge is an initiative by Morettino and MUV B Corp, launched on the occasion of the Palermo Coffee Festival.

2. Duration

Challenge period: from 06/06/2025 to 27/06/2025

3. Geographic Scope

The initiative is open to participants worldwide and aims to promote more sustainable means of transportation to reach the Palermo Coffee Festival.

4. How the Initiative Works

4.1 Who Can Participate?

The challenge is open to all MUV Game users who log their sustainable journeys using the MUV Game app, through the supported transport modes.

4.2 Obiettivo della Sfida

This is a Collaborative Challenge, where all players contribute to a collective score to reach three milestone thresholds.

✅ Upon reaching each threshold, badges and rewards are unlocked.
✅ Points earned by each participant are added to the overall total.
✅ The collective score determines whether the challenge goals are achieved.

4.3 How to Earn Points

Participants earn points by logging their sustainable trips via the MUV Game app, provided that:

🔹 The trip is tracked using the app.
🔹 The route is validated by MUV’s automatic algorithms.

Trips that do not meet these criteria will not be counted toward the total score.

5. Trip Tracking and Verification

The mechanism for tracking and verifying sustainable travel works as follows:

To log a sustainable trip, users must tap the “PLAY” button and select a supported sustainable travel mode. Modes supported by MUV for this challenge include: walking, biking, electric scooter/bike, electric motorcycle/car, public transportation, intercity buses, trains/subways, and carpooling.
Once tracking is activated, the app will collect data on the user’s location and activity, which is essential for route validation.
During the trip, users can change their travel mode by tapping the “SWITCH” button and selecting a different transport icon.
At the end of the journey, tapping “STOP” will halt tracking and trigger the automatic validation process, which will assign points accordingly.
After completing a trip, users can view the trip details and points earned on a dedicated screen. If a trip is not validated due to an error, users can request further verification using the “Give us feedback” option on the trip detail screen or via the side menu.
Points awarded for each verified sustainable trip are proportional to the distance traveled and the type of mobility used. Additional bonus points may be granted based on various factors, such as: Weather conditions, Altitude (for walking and biking), Rush hour, Places, Home-work or home-school routes and App usage frequency.

To enable tracking, location services must be activated on the device. These are used exclusively for validating sustainable travel and for statistical and research purposes.

For optimal tracking performance, users are advised to disable battery saving features, which may interfere with trip recording.
MUV is not responsible for loss of GPS signal or trip data due to device issues, internet disconnections, or other third-party technical problems.

6. Rewards and Assignment

The collaborative challenge rewards will be distributed through a lottery among the top-performing players. The number of participants eligible for the draw will increase as the challenge reaches three progressively higher score thresholds.

6.1 How the Lottery Works

🎟️ Each qualified player will receive a number of lottery tickets based on their position on the leaderboard: the higher the ranking, the more tickets they receive.

The lottery will be conducted by randomly drawing winning tickets from among those assigned to the eligible players. A participant’s chances of winning depend on the total number of eligible users and the number of tickets they hold, as more players qualify at higher thresholds, while the number of prizes remains constant.

6.2 Available Prizes

All players participating in the challenge will immediately receive a 10% discount code for use at the Morettino Lab in Palermo, available in the “Rewards” section of the MUV Game app.

Prizes will be awarded in the order of drawing, from highest to lowest value.
⛔ Each player can win only one prize.

6.3 Score Thresholds and Lottery Access

Access to the lottery will depend on reaching total collective score thresholds:
First Threshold – 50,000 points
→ Lottery among the top 25 players

Second Threshold – 180,000 points
→ Lottery among the top 30 players

Third Threshold – 360,000 points
→ Lottery among the top 40 players

📌 As higher thresholds are reached, more players become eligible for the draw, but the number of prizes remains the same.

7. Prize Delivery

At the end of the challenge, the prizes will be assigned and made immediately available in the “Rewards” section of the MUV Game app.

8. Nature of the Initiative

📢 This initiative serves social and charitable purposes and is not classified as a prize competition under Italian Presidential Decree of October 26, 2001, no. 430 (Art. 6, letter e).
