3Cs Tournament – Rules - MUV

3Cs Tournament – Rules

  1. Promoters
This tournament is an initiative of MUV B Corp and 3Cs.
  2. Duration
    From 03/03/2025 to 14/04/2025.
  3. Territorial scope
    Europe.
  4. Modalities of the initiative

The challenge is open to the Université Paul Valéry, Universidade de Coimbra, Universidad Camilo José Cela and the Università di Torino, who commit to using sustainable means of transport for their journeys, including cycling, e-biking and walking.

Each participant will accumulate points based on the sustainable trips travelled. To be valid, trips must be tracked via the dedicated app and then verified by the automatic algorithms of the MUV service.

The mechanism for tracking and verifying sustainable displacement is as follows:

  • To track a sustainable trip, click on the “PLAY” button and select the sustainable trip mode chosen from those available. The modes supported by MUV for the tournament are walking, cycling and e-bike.
  • Once tracking starts, information about the user’s position and activity is collected, which is essential for trip validation.
  • During the journey, you can change the mode of travel by clicking on the “SWITCH” button and selecting the icon for a different means of transport.
  • At the journey’s end, select “STOP” to interrupt tracking and start the automatic procedures for validating the trip and awarding points.
  • Once the route has been completed, you can view the details of your trip and the points you have earned on the dedicated detail screen. In the event that the route has not been validated by mistake, it is possible to request further verification through the “Give us feedback” option on the trip detail screen or in the side menu of the app.
  • The points earned by the player with each certified sustainable route are proportional to the distance travelled and the mobility system adopted. In addition, there are additional bonuses, which proportionally increase the number of points earned depending on several factors, including: weather conditions, altitude (only for walking and cycling), peak traffic times, home-work or home-school routes and frequency of app use

Please note that in order to enable tracking, it is necessary to activate the device’s location services, which are used exclusively to validate sustainable travel and for statistical and research purposes. More details can be found in the “Help” section of the app and in the Terms and Conditions of Use.

  1. Team points accumulation mode
Each team’s score during matches is determined by the sum of the points obtained by the 10 highest-scoring players, plus the average points of all other team members.

    • Bonus on average score
The average score of the remaining players in the team is eligible for a percentage bonus based on the total number of active participants in the team:
      +5% → 20 players
      +10% → 40 players
      +15% → 80 players
      +20% → 150 players
      +25% → 300 players
      +30% → 600 players
      +35% → 1200 players
      +40% → 2400 players
      +45% → 4800 players
      +50% → 9600 players
    • Awarding of the title of Best Player
At the end of each match, the 10 players with the highest score within each team will automatically receive the title of “Best Player“. Each player can check his position and game status in real time by accessing the “Tournament” section.
    • Operation and stages of the tournament
The tournament consists of three phases:
      Ranking phase
      Duration: 1 week
All teams participate in this first phase, in which they are ranked according to points accumulated. At the end of the week, the ranking will determine the positioning of the teams for the next group stage.
      Group phase
      Duration: 3 weeks
The teams are divided into a single group and face each other in one-on-one matches. Each team plays against all the others at least once. The matches last one week each and, at the end of this phase, the overall ranking decides which teams advance to the playoffs.
      Playoff
      Duration: 2 week
The best teams from the group stage qualify for the playoffs, which take place in a knockout format. Semi-finals and finals are played to determine the winner of the tournament. The team that wins the final will be proclaimed the winner of the tournament
  2. Prizes
Team members will receive individual prizes divided as follows:

    • 7 Decathlon vouchers to the value of 50€ each will be awarded, by drawing, to 7 players drawn from among all the Best Players of the winning team.
The draw will take place exclusively among the players who have achieved the title of Best Player within the winning team.
    • 5 Decathlon vouchers to the value of 50€ each will be awarded, by drawing, to 5 players drawn from among all the Best Players of the winning team.
The draw will take place exclusively among the players who have been awarded the title of Best Player.

Players admitted to the draw will receive a variable number of tickets, determined by their accumulated Best Player titles. The draw will take place by randomly selecting the winning tickets from those allocated to the participants. Each player will have a chance of winning proportional to the number of tickets received and the total number of prizes up for grabs.

Each player can only win one prize per category, i.e. a maximum of one of the prizes reserved for the winning team and one of those awarded to all Best Players in the tournament.

  1. End of Prizegiving
At the end of the tournament, the vouchers will be credited in the “Rewards” section of the app within a maximum of 48 hours.
  2. Nature
Since this initiative has an eminently charitable purpose, it does not fall within the scope of D.P.R. 26 ottobre 2001, n. 430, secondo l’articolo 6 comma e.
  3. Data Use and Privacy.
In order to allow the game to run, it is necessary to collect and process information relating to the tracking of trips made via the app and the results of the game. The player’s personal data will be processed in full compliance with current privacy legislation, as specified in the document https://www.muvgame.com/en/privacy-policy.
