We are excited to announce that MUV will be part of the second cohort of the 6-month EIT Urban Mobility startups accelerator programme.
EIT Urban Mobility is an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) that aims to encourage positive changes in the way people move around cities in order to make them more liveable places.
On our blog, you can learn more about why it is important to improve our mobility habits and discover what are the benefits and advantages of sustainable mobility.
The EIT Urban Mobility accelerator programme is an EU-funded program aimed at innovative startups that want to develop advanced solutions to reduce congestion and increase efficiency in the transport system, accelerating the transition to low- or zero-emission forms of transport.
The first call for the selection of startups was launched in May. On November 15 2020 the second call closed. More than 250 applications have been received from five different geographic areas in Europe, (named “InnovationHub”). MUV has been selected among the 25 most promising startups on the topic of mobility, with a clear and scalable business model.
The Osmm (Optimal sustainable mobility mix) 2020 report, titled “Sustainable mobility for the revitalization of metropolitan cities”, shows how the use of cars as a means of transport in Italian metropolitan cities has increased by 70% and local public transport has dropped by 25%.
There is much to be done. It will take a while before city life can return to normal.
Therefore, the European startup community is intensively working on innovative technological solutions to the corona challenges. Thanks to the special acceleration program, MUV will benefit, in the next six months, from many services. From financial support but above all from mentoring, coaching, expert workshops, technology validation, market research, contacts with investors and access to the local ecosystem.
We look forward to developing six months of intense collaboration to contribute to the challenge for safe and sustainable mobility.
