At a time when combating climate change is increasingly becoming a global priority, the education of the younger generation plays a crucial role. MUV launches the MUV2School program, an initiative that actively engages students by bringing them closer to sustainable mobility and mobility management.
In che modo si può rendere un istituto più sostenibile riducendo l’impatto ambientale prodotto dai trasporti?
How to make daily mobility choices more conscious and build more mindful habits?
How can mobility data be used to improve the way students and teachers travel to school each day?
MUV2School aims to answer these fundamental questions about the impact of our daily travel on the environment and how we can reduce our carbon footprint through more conscious choices. Using the MUV Game app, students can experience sustainable mobility through a game, explore the principles of mobility management and mobility data analysis, and create an HSTP – Home School Travel Plan.
Created in collaboration with Apply Consulting, the pilot project at the Vignarelli Institute in Sanluri, financed by Fondazione Sardegna, represents an innovative and practical model of environmental education.
At the heart of the project is the mobility challenge, designed by the students themselves, which aims to promote responsible behaviour on the home-school trips. This initiative not only involves the entire school community in collective action against climate change but also rewards individual efforts through awards vouchers.
MUV’s certified methodology for calculating CO₂ savings also makes it possible to quantify the environmental impact of the school community. MUV will then calculate the impact produced by the school in terms of tons of CO2 saved, and IIS Vignarelli will obtain a certificate for the current school year that can be displayed.
The launch of MUV2School at the Vignarelli Institute in Sanluri, inaugurated in February by an introductory webinar on sustainable mobility, the principles of the MUV Game app and followed by an educational workshop, marks the beginning of a journey that will extend for four weeks starting on 2 April. An educational experience that not only enriches students with knowledge and skills useful for the future but also places them at the centre of positive change, demonstrating that sustainable mobility can indeed become a sport and a collective commitment to a healthier planet.
Employees of INAIL, LIST, ISPRA, Fondazione Unipolis, Fondazione CRT and many others have already turned colleagues into sustainable mobility athletes and actively contributed to reducing emissions.
Whether it is a sustainability project for employees or sponsorship for our champions, companies and organizations play as well the game of change.
